How We Got Started

The vision for Veteran Biographies began a few years ago when its founder, Don Saville, started to ask questions about both of his grandfathers’ service in World War II. Intrigued by conflicting information from family members, Don started researching to confirm as much information as he could. He then assembled short biographies for both grandfathers and gave out copies to his family members.

Seeing how much everyone enjoyed learning about their pasts, he became interested in discovering information about other Veterans, too. He envisioned a space where information could be both shared and learned about other Veterans and currently serving military. Veteran Biographies is his vision turned reality and it is devoted to honoring the men and women who have served, and those who are still serving faithfully, giving their all for our country.  Even though Don himself has never served, he understands the sacrifice since both of his grandfathers served in World War II.
